At Yahamaha Outboards, we are committed to making the purchase and delivery of your new or used outboard motor a smooth, transparent, and secure process, regardless of your location. We provide fast shipping worldwide, ensuring your engine arrives safely and efficiently.
1. General Shipping Information
- Global Reach: We offer insured shipping to all states in the US and Canada, the UK, Australia, and across Europe (including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and more).
- Shipping Method: All outboard motors are professionally crated and shipped via specialized freight carriers to ensure maximum protection during transit. We do not use standard parcel services for engines.
- Processing Time: Orders are typically processed and prepared for shipping within 3-5 business days after payment verification. This includes final testing, crating, and completing all necessary shipping documentation.
2. Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated based on the following factors:
- Engine Size and Weight (HP): Larger, higher horsepower (HP) motors (e.g., 300 HP, 150 HP) cost more to ship than smaller, portable engines.
- Destination: International shipments (to the UK, Australia, or Europe) will incur higher costs than domestic US or Canadian shipments.
- Insurance Value: All shipments are insured for the full purchase price of the Yamaha or Suzuki outboard motor.
How to Get a Quote:
Shipping costs are not automatically added at checkout. To ensure accuracy, customers must Request a Shipping Quote prior to or immediately after placing an order. Our logistics team will provide a firm, all-inclusive shipping quote within one business day.
3. Estimated Delivery Times
Delivery times are estimates and may vary based on customs processing and specific carrier schedules.
| Destination | Typical Transit Time (After Shipment) |
| US States (e.g., Florida, California) | 5-10 business days |
| Canada (e.g., Ontario, BC) | 7-14 business days (includes border clearance) |
| UK / Europe (Major Ports) | 15-25 business days |
| Australia (Major Ports) | 20-35 business days |
Note: International delivery times may be subject to delays beyond our control due to customs and import regulations in the receiving country.
4. International Shipments & Customs (UK, Europe, Australia, Canada)
For all international orders, the following is important:
- DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid): Our standard shipping quotes cover the freight cost and insurance only.
- Duties, Taxes, and Fees: The buyer is solely responsible for all import duties, customs taxes, VAT, and brokerage fees levied by the destination country (e.g., UK VAT or EU import duties). These fees are typically collected by the freight carrier upon delivery.
- Customs Documentation: Yahamaha Outboards will prepare all necessary export documents, commercial invoices, and proper HS codes for customs clearance of your new or used outboard motor.
5. Packaging and Security
All outboard motors are treated with the highest level of care:
- Professional Crating: Engines are drained of fluids (as per shipping regulations) and securely bolted into custom-built, heavy-duty wooden shipping crates to prevent damage to the engine cowl, shaft, and propeller.
- Full Insurance: Every motor, whether a used 2018 model or a brand new 4-stroke, is covered by comprehensive insurance against loss or damage during transit.
6. Receiving Your Outboard Motor (Crucial)
Inspect Before Signing: This is the most critical step in the delivery process.
- Examine the Crate: Before the carrier leaves, thoroughly inspect the wooden crate for any signs of damage (cracks, punctures, heavy impacts, tipped-over stickers).
- Document Damage: If you notice any damage to the packaging, no matter how minor, you must note it on the carrier’s Bill of Lading (BOL) before signing. Take clear photographs of the damage.
- Refusal: If the crate damage is severe and you suspect the Yamaha or Suzuki outboard inside is compromised, you have the right to refuse the shipment.
Failure to note visible damage on the BOL may void the shipping insurance claim. If damage is discovered after the carrier leaves, notify Yahamaha Outboards immediately (within 24 hours).
7. Post-Delivery: First Steps
Upon receiving your engine:
- Unpack Carefully: Uncrate the engine and inspect it thoroughly.
- Refill Fluids: Remember that all fluids (engine oil, gear oil) have been drained for safe transit. The motor must be refilled with the correct fluids before use or testing. Refer to the owner’s manual for specifications.
- Installation: We strongly recommend having your outboard motor professionally installed and prepared by a certified marine mechanic.
